Cash reporting issues (one site affected presently)

Hello Ladies and Gentlemen,

I've received and researched a report that the cash prize award in the Prize Game script is publishing bogus entries in the vtp_cash table. This is happening at only one site at present, and we've been able to confirm that this is not based on any sort of incorrect settings.

We cannot replicate this error on any other site at present, and are hoping you can help us in a little way. If you all can take a look at your site, and if a reward of cash is being given out, if any suspicious entries are making their way to your vtp_cash table.

This is important to know, if the cash amounts are being affected, it may well have to be removed from the script altogether, which no one wants.

However, it may be unscrupulous types who are making these changes to boost their account(s), and we need to know fi this si the case as well so we can prevent this from happening as well.

The good news though, the entries do not match with entries in the prizegame table. That is the entries in the vtp_cash table are happening at a time different from when the game was played. In this way, you can easily remove those entries from your database, and this also hints at "cheaters" finding a way into the system.

We will advise more as we research this problem further, but want you all to be aware of this potential problem, and report anything that may be happening on your site. Please let us know about bogus entries, and if your site is running fine.

Ok Ray, make it 2 sites affected....

I finally got the script fully functional and tested different things. I made it "pick one of three doors" game and was quite pleased with my simple design and how easy it was to customize. HOWEVER, I added cash prizes to the system (nickels and dimes totalling $10) and came back to see I have given away over $40! Of these winnings there was several 4 and 8 dollar prizes awarded. *$8 dollar prizes to pro* ... I do have a 4 Credit option and wonder if this is somehow getting flubbed with the cash I dunno...

On the prize setup where you insert the value to be given away it only showed that one .05 prize was awarded out of the 5.00 i had set. I immediately removed the cash prizes from the game and came directly here to report it.

However, this sounds like a settings issue, one prize perhaps being mistakenly set for cash instead of credits.

We're looking for bogus entries in the cash table, if those come up, we need to know immediately.
